The City of North Battleford has announced that Central Park will be closed next week for tree maintenance.
The estimated end date is subject to change due to weather conditions, however it is expected the park will be closed to the public from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31st to Friday, Sept. 4.
Six City Operations staff members will be removing dead wood and hanging branches, which are potential safety hazards. Pruning improves the long term health and stability of the trees by removing weak spots, increasing air circulation and sunlight exposure.
“This park is a wonderful green space.” explained Tim Yeaman. “It is important to maintain it so that it can be safely enjoyed by everyone.”
