As they have done in previous provincial elections, the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce is holding an all-candidates forum in 2016.
Their all-candidates forum for the Battlefords riding will be March 22 at Third Avenue United Church between 7 and 9 p.m.
Presently there are four candidates vying for the seat: Herb Cox of the Saskatchewan Party, Rob Feist of the NDP, Dexter Gopher of the Liberals and Josh Hunt for the Green Party.
At this meeting, candidates will be provided the opportunity for opening and closing remarks. There will be a time allotted for open and written questions from the floor and also questions that are received via email or fax. Those wishing to submit email questions can send them to [email protected]. Fax questions will be accepted at 306-446-0188.
Residents at home can hear the responses by watching the all-candidates meeting which will be shown later on Access 7 TV.
“The Battlefords Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor this type of public forum,” says chamber executive director Linda Machniak. “It provides the residents the opportunity to hear and compare the candidates while assisting them to make their decision on whom they wish directly to represent them in the legislative assembly.”
Battlefords Chamber president Jay Bottomley is urging everyone to be involved in this campaign “by ensuring your voice is heard and vote is counted. It is important for each resident to exercise their right to vote either on polling day or in advance polls.”
The all-candidates forum is open to all residents of the Battlefords constituency eligible to vote in this election.
This is not the only all-candidates meeting announced for the riding, as CUPE Local 5111 has a meeting set up for the following night, March 23, between 7 and 9 p.m.
