Chapel Gallery has new artwork – from a Saskatoon artist and a local photographer.
Michael Remando was born in British Columbia but has lived in Saskatoon since he was five. He has worked as an industrial scaffolder for 10 years, and currently works as a construction safety officer. Having immersed himself in street culture from a young age, his work is inspired by things such as skateboarding and graffiti.
The exhibit is called Thoughts of the Night That Capture Your Heart. It runs until Jan. 8, 2018. The exhibit’s reception was on Friday, Nov. 17.
Roger Giesbrecht’s collection of photographs, Landmarks and Memories, runs concurrently with Remando’s work. Giesbrecht was “for the most part” raised in North Battleford, but spent his formative years on the family farm near Speers. Giesbrecht describes himself as an amateur photographer who has been taking photos for over 30 years. The placard states “his work has been used by many local agencies to highlight and promote the Battlefords and area.”
Giesbrecht’s exhibit likewise runs until Jan. 8, 2018.
