The sexual assault case against Harry Michael Dekker has been resolved in mediation.
In provincial court Tuesday morning in Saskatoon, lawyers for the Crown and defence reported there had been what the Crown described as a "successful mediation" in the case.
As a result, the Crown has withdrawn the information against Dekker. He no longer faces the sexual assault charge, or any other criminal charges in the case.
Dekker's counsel in the case, Saskatoon lawyer Mark Brayford, issued an agreed-upon statement from his office after the proceedings wrapped up.
"Harry Dekker has taken full responsibility and accountability for his actions, which is required for a successful mediation. The victim is satisfied with the outcome of the mediation process," Brayford said.
Brayford was not in attendance in court Tuesday. Saskatoon lawyer Kevin Hill, acting as agent for Brayford, appeared on Dekker's behalf. The mediator in the case was also in attendance.
That brings to a quiet end the case involving the high-profile former CJNB morning radio personality who had been named Citizen of the Year for 2011.
The charge against Dekker dated back to September 2012 when he was arrested following an alleged incident near Borden on Highway 16.
Dekker was charged with one count of sexual assault and was released on an undertaking, and his matter came up in court for the first time in January 2013.
The case remained at a standstill in court for several months. At no point did Dekker enter a plea, nor was he required to make an appearance in court.
The case was characterized through the early portion of 2013 by several adjournments and little noticeable progress. That changed later in the summer when both sides agreed to take on a mediator to attempt to resolve the case.
That mediation lasted several months and reached its final conclusion in court Tuesday.
