Charges laid following firearms incident on 101st

Charges have been laid following the incident and police standoff on the 2000 block of 101st Street in North Battleford on Saturday morning. In custody are 18-year-old Darby Johnson and 23-year-old Marty Moccasin both of North Battleford.

Charges have been laid following the incident and police standoff on the 2000 block of 101st Street in North Battleford on Saturday morning.

In custody are 18-year-old Darby Johnson and 23-year-old Marty Moccasin both of North Battleford. Both have been charged under the Criminal Code with:

Three counts of Point a Firearm, contrary to section 87 of the Criminal Code;
One count of Possession of a weapon, contrary to s. 88;
One count of Possession of a Firearm, contrary to s. 96;
One count of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to s. 91.2;
One count of  Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited, contrary to s. 117.01;
One count of Mischief, contrary to s. 430 (4).

The two had given themselves up on Saturday morning after the lengthy standoff. Afterwards, a search warrant was executed on a residence in the 2000 block of the 101st Street in North Battleford. A long barrel firearm was located and seized during that search.

Both Johnson and Moccasin were scheduled to appear at 9:30 a.m. this morning in North Battleford Provincial Court.
