The event is being held in the wake of the death of Amanda Todd, Oct. 10. Todd, a young cheerleader from British Columbia committed suicide because of bullying.

The cheerleading community has been stunned by the news and has rallied to her cause. Local cheerleading coach, Lesia Rathje, is planning a local event to raise awareness of the issue.

The charity event is still in the planning stages, but organizers are tentatively planning a pink shirt day Friday, followed Saturday with a cheerleading camp for anyone 18 and under, along with a bake sale, silent auction and a 50-50 draw.
