Two individuals from the Northwest region have been arrested following a major crackdown by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
According to a June 18 news release from the ICE unit, Project Snapshot III ran from Feb. 1 to May 27, and involved ICE investigative Units from across Canada including in Saskatchewan.
Those arrested in the Northwest were:
Gary Kevin Nuspl (born April 24, 1965) of Neilburg, charged with accessing and possession of child pornography, as well as charges of being unlawfully in a dwelling house, theft under $5,000, interception of private communications and possession of interception devices.
Also charged is Todd Jason Staples (born Feb. 23, 1984) of Pierceland,
Charged with accessing, possession and making available child pornography.
Nine other individuals across the province were also charged. During Snapshot III the Saskatchewan ICE Unit initiated 15 investigations and executed 12 search warrants throughout the province. A total of 33 Criminal Code charges were laid.
Three more cases will be followed up in the next couple of weeks, according to the ICE news release.
