Child pornography charges laid

Members from the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence located on the north end of Saskatoon Monday in relation to an outstanding investigation from Operation Snapshot.

A 58-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.

Charged was Darrel Donald Stupnikoff. He made his first court appearance in Saskatoon Tuesday morning. Stupnikoff has a previous conviction in 2005 for possession of child pornography. He remains in custody and will be appearing for a show cause hearing in Saskatoon, Wednesday.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
