A child safety registration organization will be in North Battleford this week, offering an electronic identification service that can provide police and emergency service with a child's picture and information in a crisis situation.

Child Save has registered over a quarter of a million children across Canada from newborns to young adults.

The service costs less than $6 per month for a family to register, however no child will be refused. Participating parents are issued two wallet sized tracking cards with a toll free number that can be used in more than 21 countries. Parents are given safety labels to provide immediate identification for use on items such as strollers, car seats and cell phones.

Parents can register with Child Save at the Co-op Territorial Place Mall until Saturday, May 17. Kids do not need to be present. Last year over 66,000 children were reported lost or missing, and many more required immediate medical attention.

Child Save is a self-sustaining corporation. Revenue generated from the sale of its memberships covers its operating costs and allows the company to carry out its advocacy and prevention efforts.
