North Battleford has hired a new finance director.
Matthew Hartney will take over the position March 1, according to a news release from the City. He takes over from Byron Tumbach who moved on in December to become chief administrative officer for the town of Lumsden.
The finance director is responsible for finance and accounting including the preparation of financial statement, current and long term budgeting and financial planning, debt financing, purchase policies and procedures for the city.
Hartney is currently employed by NAV Canada. He holds a degree in business administration from the University of Saskatchewan, with an MBA and a CMA designation. It is expected he will be moving to North Battleford from Ottawa in the next couple of weeks.
