City Hall is not involved with a door-to-door water testing initiative being marketed in the city.

According to a city news release, a water sample bottle with a note in the mailbox has been supplied to some local residents offering to get their water tested free of charge. The city is emphasizing this is not their initiative, but one from a private business who is promoting their products and services.

The city is reminding residents that they are already required to test and monitor drinking water on a regular basis to ensure clean and safe drinking water. They noted that their environmental technologist takes samples every week from seven different locations in the city which are then sent to a certified lab in Saskatoon. Annual drinking water reports are also prepared and published on the city's website at https://www.cityofnb.ca/city_government/administration/publications_maps_and_reports.html
Residents with questions or concerns about their water quality can contact Tammy MacCormack, Environmental Manager at the City of North Battleford: 306-445-1738 or
Bruce Dahl, Environment Project Officer at the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency: 306-933-8387. Property owners or tenants with lead service lines (about 360 in the City) should contact City Hall to sign up for the Annual Monitoring Program.
