The cycling journey of Clara Hughes has wrapped up in Ottawa on Canada Day.
Hughes arrived on Parliament Hill for the final event of her Bell Let's Talk tour across the country, a tour aimed at erasing the stigma and creating a conversation about mental illness across Canada.
The tour, which spanned 110 days and 11,000 kilometers, had included the Battlefords as one of its stops back on June 6 and 7.
Her route took Hughes past Saskatchewan Hospital and included a rally at Rotary Plaza at the CUplex as well as an event at John Paul II Collegiate the following morning. When speaking to the media at the time, she made it known she believed things were changing when it came to mental illness.
"I think that things are shifting. I do think we have a long, long way to go on every level but there is a shift happening when it comes to awareness and understanding," Hughes said.
