City officials are reporting that this year’s Spring Cleanup Day a huge amount of garbage collected.
According to numbers supplied by the City, the community collected 2,750 kilograms of garbage this year. This was the second highest total after the 2015 cleanup which saw 4,000 kilograms collected.
This was the fifth year for the cleanup effort spearheaded by the City of North Battleford and the North Battleford Business Improvement District.
Last Thursday, City staff collected litter on Highways 4 and 16 and Territorial Drive while garbage bags were also picked up by schools and community groups for their clean up efforts. Participants in the cleanup were also invited to the fire hall at noon to enjoy burgers and soft drinks, sponsored by Frazer’s No Frills.
