The board of North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings was advised the organization now has a full complement of four physicians on staff at their regular meeting Dec. 16.

With the arrival of two new physicians in 2013 the organization says they are excited to have this group of dedicated practitioners to serve their communities.

The implementation of a new electronic medical records system made the year challenging for staff and practitioners, according to a NSRMHH press release. The staff, physicians and nurse practitioner have all done an exemplary job in continuing to provide seamless service to the community while dealing with the many issues and problems during and after conversion, the release states.

NSRMHH and Prairie North Health Region continue to recruit for a vacant nurse practitioner position. The board expressed their appreciation to Nurse Practitioner Celeste Toews for continuing to help out at the Edam Clinic.

Dr. Mpoposhe will be away from Jan. 6 to 27 to return to South Africa and bring her family back to Canada. Dr Dandugula will be taking holidays Jan. 31 to Feb. 14 and Dr. Tshatshela was away attending a conference Dec. 27 to Jan. 6.

NSRMHH continues to have monthly meetings with staff, physicians and Prairie North personnel to collaborate in primary care initiatives for the clinics and to work toward better patient flow between the Riverside Clinic and outpatient services.

The board wishes everyone health and happiness in 2014.

The next regular meeting of NSRMHH board will be held Monday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the RM of Mervin office, Turtleford.
