North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings held their regular meeting Sept. 19.
Dr. Langeni will be away until Oct. 11. NSRMHH and Prairie North Health Region have accessed locum services from Saskatchewan Medical Association while physicians are away. However the clinics will still be operating short staffed and the board hopes residents will try to wait to schedule routine appointments such as prescriptions and completes physicals until after mid-October. The physicians and nurse practioners will be busy tending to more urgent types of appointments and would appreciate that residents keep this in mind when booking.
The board reviewed the announcement by the provincial government to establish a panel to assess the health regions in the province to recommend a structure of fewer health authorities to achieve administrative efficiencies as well as improvements for front-line delivery. The board will be providing a submission to the panel to articulate the need for continued comprehensive health services in rural areas.
The next regular meeting is Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in the RM of Mervin office, Turtleford.
If anyone has any questions, they are welcome to contact the representative from their area or the office at 306-845-4144.
