SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a detached garage that was on fire at the 200 block of Avenue P North on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
This is potentially the ninth garage fire since January this year, with the last incident happening on Aug. 30.
The SFD received the report at 10:36 p.m. and dispatched fire crews, with the first to arrive seeing smoke and flames coming from the detached garage.
Firefighters advanced hose lines for an interior attack, while another crew searched the structure and confirmed there were no occupants in the garage.
The fire has been completely extinguished, with no reports of injuries to firefighters or occupants of the house.
The scene, once it was safe, was turned over to the fire investigator to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate of the fire.
