coffee to go

On Tuesday morning, Karen Pernala, along with others with Meals on Wheels offered free coffee and cookies, plus a copy of the News-Optimist, in the parking lot of Guy’s Furniture. Pernala is a co-ordinator of volunteer services, said Meals on Wheels has seven routes in the Battlefords, and volunteers deliver 70 meals a day. The appreciation event lasted from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and attracted a few dozen people. Pernala said Meals on Wheels is always looking for volunteers, and that she’d like to thank Guy’s Furniture for the space and Tim Hortons for providing the coffee and cookies.
