The Credit Union CUPlex continues to move closer to substantial completion for several components.

That was the news from Keith Anderson in his report to North Battleford council Monday.

According to Anderson, the final hurdle to substantial completion, the mechanical and electrical review, was scheduled to take place at the theatre June 28 and 29.

The substantial completion tour of the aquatic centre was scheduled for June 26 with electrical and mechanical to follow.

The curling rink is still slated to be completed July 13. Oct. 15 remains the completion date for the field house.

Anderson was upbeat about how things were coming along at the various CUPlex components during his report to council.

At the theatre, he said theatre rigging and the sound system were being installed, and the rigging should be completed this week.

The building is "looking good," said Anderson. "It won't be long now."

At the aquatic centre, filters and pumps are going and the water is bubbling in all three tanks, said Anderson. He also said the wave generator was been commissioned earlier that day. The water slide was scheduled to be commissioned Tuesday.

"The whole building's looking good," said Anderson who added they are getting closer to the point where they can start training staff and getting it open.
