North Battleford council has given its approval to a subdivision, easement agreement and servicing agreement for Discovery Co-op Ltd.

The approval is for subdivision of their property at 9800 Territorial Drive, the location of Territorial Place Mall, to accommodate development of a lease pad site.

According to a city memo from Director of Planning and Development Jennifer Niesink dated March 9, administration has received a development and building permit application for the development of a restaurant at the site, which conforms to the current zoning bylaw.

According to City Planner Ryan Mackrell, the servicing agreement is due to the applicant’s seeking a left turn lane on 100th Street where it transitions to highway 4, at what is commonly known as the “A&W intersection.” The costs would be borne by the applicant.

As for the easement agreement, it was described as “pretty standard” by Mackrell and allows the city access to the infrastructure for breaks, disconnects, replacements and so on at all times.

The vote by council to authorize the mayor and city clerk issue the city’s certificate of approval was unanimous.
