A couple of cases in the news in recent weeks have been adjourned to later dates in North Battleford provincial court.
Valen Nicotine, facing aggravated assault and firearms charges in connection to the Sept. 1 shooting incident in North Battleford, appeared before Judge Lloyd Deshaye by closed circuit video from cells in Saskatoon Tuesday morning.
His show cause hearing has been rescheduled to Dec. 23 to allow preparation of a bail supervision report. Nicotine remains remanded until then and a no-contact order involving several individuals also remains in effect.
In a separate matter, Christopher Passley appeared by closed circuit video from Saskatoon Tuesday in connection to an Aug. 17 incident. Passley was charged with assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, failure to comply and failure to appear in court.
Passley's matters were adjourned to Friday at 11 a.m. in provincial court, to allow time for his lawyer to meet with him to discuss his case. His appearance is once again to be by closed circuit TV.
