Two people onboard a CT-156 Harvard II training aircraft that crashed southwest of Moose Jaw were able to eject from the aircraft before it crashed.
They ejected around 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27. The individuals were a Royal Canadian Air Force flight instructor and RCAF student. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident. Their family members have been notified, but names have not been released.
According to the statement from National Defence, the precise circumstances leading up to the ejection are not known. The crash site was secured and a full flight safety investigation is under way to determine what caused the crash.
As well, 15 Wing will be providing support for the pilots, their families and the military community during this time.
