North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services personnel were busy last week with a series of accidents and spills that resulted in one hospitalization.

Sept. 17, ambulances were called to a four-vehicle accident that occurred on Territorial Drive at the Sobeys entrance. One patient was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries and the fire department cleaned up a small antifreeze leak.

One day earlier, the NBFES responded to the site of a fuel spill on Pioneer Road around noon. A slip tank had fallen off a truck when a driver accelerated around a corner and was leaking diesel. A total of 40 to 50 litres of diesel fuel spilled from the tank before the leak was plugged and the remaining fuel was pumped into another tank.

Late Tuesday night, NBFES cleaned up a gasoline spill at the 7-11 store on 100th Street. Approximately five litres of gasoline were spilled from a vehicle while it was refueling, and the gas was cleaned up without disrupting regular business.
