Cut Knife RCMP have arrested two males and are looking for another in connection with a home invasion on Little Pine First Nation on the evening of March 15.
RCMP report that two adult males allegedly forced their way inside a residence, disguised their faces and had a knife and firearm with them. One adult female and seven youth inside the residence at the time of the incident were not physically injured. The suspects left in a vehicle, which police later determined to be stolen.
RCMP members located the vehicle on Little Pine First Nation and arrested one male after the stolen vehicle became stuck.
A second male was arrested without incident by Cut Knife RCMP members in the early morning hours of March 16 after local residents reported a suspicious male walking in the area.
Cut Knife RCMP say 19-year-old Bryton Semaganis of Poundmaker First Nation appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 17 charged with the following offences:
one count, break and enter to commit robbery with a firearm, section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code;
one count, wearing a disguise while committing an offence, section 351(2) of the Criminal Code;
one count, pointing a firearm, section 87(2) of the Criminal Code;
one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, section 88(2) of the Criminal Code;
one count, failing to dtop while being pursued by police, section249.1(1) of the Criminal Code;
one count, resisting arrest, section 129 of the Criminal Code;
Shane Semaganis of Poundmaker First Nation remains at large and an arrest warrant has been issued in relation to this matter.
Cut Knife RCMP are seeking assistance from the public to locate Shane Semaganis. In a release issue Saturday, RCMP said, "If you know the whereabouts of Semaganis, he should not be approached; contact Cut Knife RCMP or your local police service immediately."
The incident is still under investigation.
