It is hoped a physician being recruited by North Saskatchewan River Municipal Health Holdings with the help of Prairie North Health Region will be able to complete certification in September, members of the NSRMHH board were advised at a regular meeting May 13.
The two organizations continue to work with a physician through the immigration process board members were to. It is hoped she will be able to attend the Saskatchewan International Physicians Assessment Program. The program will start in mid-September.
NSRMHH physicians and nurse practitioner have scheduled their holidays over the next few months. Dr. Tshatshela will be away until July 2, Nurse Practitioner Warrington until June 14, Dr. Dandugula from July 4 to Aug. 5 and Dr. Odiegwu July 8 to 28.
NSRMHH and Prairie North Health Region have secured locums to cover for the physicians while they are away. Dr. Sabir will be providing clinic and on call service up to Aug. 1st , Dr. Loftus will serve from July 8 to 14 and Dr. Barnett, the week of July 22.
NSRMHH and PNHR will be implementing a clinic practice redesign program in the Health Holdings clinics. This program will track activity in the clinics and will be used by the provincial government to evaluate primary care clinics and allocate resources.
The next regular meeting of the NSRMHH board will June 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the RM of Mervin Office, Turtleford.
