Battlefords Handi-bus has received a hefty and generous donation towards the purchase of a new bus.
Al Love of Battlefords Handi-bus reported this week that the transportation service has received a private donation of $80,000 towards the purchase of a new wheelchair-equipped bus. The donation was received from an individual who wishes to remain anonymous.
In presenting the donation, Battlefords Handi-bus reported the donor stated the handi-bus was of great importance and a need within the community. The donor also believes having newer and more reliable equipment would ultimately assist the handi-bus to be more cost-effective and allow it to provide and maintain affordable fare pricing into the future.
In a statement Battlefords Handi-bus "very much appreciates the generous donation from this individual and also appreciates the positive statements telling us we are successful in our goal of providing a quality service to those who require it."
