The Cybrary is McLurg High School's vision for an updated library that fully supports the use of technology in classrooms and the school.
There are a variety of online resources that can support the students in all of their school work that the school could never afford to put on the shelf. The Cubrary still houses physical books, it is just more cost effective to use the resources the Ministry of Education and the provincial library have online to supplement the school resources housed at McLurg.
The change will make the school part of the global community and a fundraiser is being organized to help get the school one step closer to that goal.
A test drive fundraiser is taking place on June 7. For every test drive of a Focus, Fusion, Escape, F-150 or Explorer at Country Ford, McLurg High School will receive $20.
Test drives are offered between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Registration forms need to be filed before a test drive is completed. These forms will ask what vehicle the driver chooses. The form asks for an address, but post office box numbers are not acceptable. The forms require a civic address or land location. Only one person per household can fill out the form. A valid driver's licence must also be presented
McLurg will also be hosting a barbecue at Country Ford that day. Anyone who wants to feed all the hard workers out in the field or at your place of business please bring a container and the students and staff would be more than happy to help feed the crew.
The money raised will be put towards the development of the Cybrary at McLurg.
