Drunk drivers charged

The weather warmed up a bit, and Battlefords RCMP were out and about responding to more than 35 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2 and 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3.

The weather warmed up a bit, and Battlefords RCMP were out and about responding to more than 35 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2 and 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3.

Those calls included three alarms, but only one false/nuisance 911 call.

Thursday

12:12 p.m. - Vandalism to a vehicle parked on Diefenbaker Drive. Vehicle sustained damage to front bumper, unsure if hit and run or deliberate mischief.

1:30 p.m. - Minor two-vehicle collision on 102nd Street and Railway Avenue. No injuries and no traffic disruptions.

2:59 p.m. - Two-vehicle collision on Railway Avenue East near Highway 40 junction. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from scene. One person taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Cause of collision is still under investigation.

3:47 p.m. - Harassment complaint. Few details provided. Investigation ongoing.

6:26 p.m. - 43-year-old man arrested and facing charges of assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after a dispatch to a residence on the 1500 block of 105th Street. Complaint received of an assault in progress at residence. Accused has since been released from custody pending his first appearance on conditions that include no contact with the alleged victim.

7:03 p.m. - Complaint of a deer on Territorial Drive and thought it might get hit. Deer warned about jaywalking.

7:15 p.m. - 30-year-old man arrested for public intoxication, found by patrolling members on 102nd Street.

9:05 p.m. - Report of an assault via a third party. Few details available at this time, matter remains under investigation.

10:12 p.m. - Theft of vehicle reported from Walker Drive. 2004 blue Grand Am with Saskatchewan licence 001 IFL.

10:14 p.m. - 31-year-old man arrested and charged with driving while disqualified after vehicle stop on 101st Street.

10:55 p.m. - 46-year-old woman arrested on 101st Street for warrants out of Saskatoon.

11:00 p.m. - 30-year-old man arrested on outstanding warrants and facing new breach charges after arrest on 108th Street.

11:58 p.m. - Suspicious person in and around a residence on 102nd Street. Patrols negative.

Friday

1:22 a.m. - Two youth arrested and facing breach charges after patrolling members located them out after curfew.

1:33 a.m. - Report of an attempted entry into a vehicle parked on 1100 block of 112th Street. Suspects described as three young males.

1:54 a.m. - 27-year-old woman arrested and facing charges of impaired driving, driving while over .08 and driving while disqualified after vehicle stop on 101st Street.

2:50 a.m. - 29-year-old man and 41-year-old man arrested for public intoxication. Patrolling members located the pair fighting on 101st Street. The 41-year-old also found to be on warrant status from Glaslyn.

3:47 a.m. - Report of unwanted, intoxicated persons at a residence on 108th Street. A 30-year-old man was found to be in violation of a conditional sentence order and arrested. A 22-year-old woman at the residence was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
