Due to a decline of current members and a lack of new memberships the Eagle Hills Community Club has decided it is no longer sustainable to maintain the Eagle Hills Community Centre.

The club has made the decision to disband. The building and property has been sold and the club is dispensing the proceeds to non-profit organizations in the hopes of passing on some of the legacy of our pioneers and community spirit.

A donation of $12,500 has been made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No.9 in Battleford. The club recognizes the Royal Canadian Legion struggles with declining members and sustaining the financial costs of maintaining the building and operations. It is their hope these funds will help to make a difference.

Another $12,500 has been donated to Hillcrest Centre in Battleford. The club recognizes the centre is a place where the seniors gather for various social activities. They are always looking for a little extra help to maintain and keep their centre open.

The Battleford Vintage Automobile Club has also received a donation of $12,500 to assist with their Fred Light service station project at Fred Light Museum in Battleford.

The Tot Lot in Battleford was allocated $2,500 and Kramer Auction Ltd. donated back half of their commission, $2,085, from sale of the Eagle Hills building .

The cheques have been presented to the four organizations. The Eagle Hills Community are also wanting to have a recognition sign at the Willowmoore Cemetery in the near future. The Willowmoore Cemetery is the only cemetery shared in the local area. Local residents meet every year for the clean up day. Cutting the grass and trimming up the trees and grave edges.
