Erratic driving and texting while driving reported

Calls to Battlefords RCMP between 6 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 and Friday, Dec. 6 included several complaints of dangerous and erratic driving including complaints about drivers texting while driving.

Calls to Battlefords RCMP between 6 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 and Friday, Dec. 6 included several complaints of dangerous and erratic driving including complaints about drivers texting while driving.


RCMP also investigated two alarms, which were false, and received on nuisance 911 call.


Thursday


8:46 a.m. - Single vehicle collision on Battleford bridges. Roads very icy at the time, driver lost control and struck guard rail and was blocking one lane of traffic for a brief period. No injuries, and vehicle towed from scene.


10:52 a.m. - Violent person reported at care facility. Attended to assist in controlling subject.


12:20 p.m. - Mischief to online accounts reported. Investigation ongoing.


6:34 p.m. - 10-year-old child reported missing. Numerous areas/addresses checked. Child returned home a short time later.


8:59 p.m. - 62-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance at a business on Railway Avenue East. Very intoxicated and refusing to leave, acting belligerent towards staff. Held in custody until sober and facing two charges under Liquor Act.


9:20 p.m. - Two unwanted and intoxicated persons at a residence on 8900 block of Panton Avenue, both refusing to leave. Two men, 33 and 46, were arrested at residence without incident. The 46-year-old man also found to have outstanding warrants and will be appearing in North Battleford Provincial Court on those matters Friday, Dec. 6 at 9:30 a.m.


11:35 p.m. - Intoxicated man reported to be causing problems at a residence on 1700 block of Trudeau Street. Subject located and arrested for failing to comply with probation, to appear in court Friday, Dec. 6 at 9:30 a.m.


Friday


1:52 a.m. - 911 call of an assault on 900 block of 110th Street. Perpetrator left scene when police called and no injuries noted. Complainant did not want matter pursued. All parties known to each other.


2:52 a.m. - 21-year-old male arrested for public intoxication on 1000 block of 101st Street. Held in custody until sober.


3:19 a.m. - 31-year-old woman arrested for assault after a report of an incident on 1600 block of 107th Street. Victim was taken to hospital complaining of an injury to her arm. Perpetrator remains in custody, no charges have been laid as of yet and investigation is ongoing. Suspect and victim are known to each other.
