Battleford RCMP responded to 52 calls for service between 6 a.m. Aug. 17 and 6 a.m. Aug. 18.
Aug. 17
6:20 a.m. - Complaint of theft of keys from residence on Mosquito First Nation. Keys retrieved from the subject of the complaint and complainant satisfied with that, no charges sought.
6:20 a.m. - A complaint was received from an intoxicated female caller, stating she had been drinking at a friend's place, but was told to leave and is too drunk to drive. Members attended and located the caller, providing her with a drive to an ATM where she retrieved cab fare and made her way home.
7:42 a.m. - Report of breach of probation received from Saskatchewan Justice. Arrest warrant prepared and offender to be located.
9:12 a.m. - Complaint of harassment by ex-girlfriend via text messaging, investigation ongoing.
9:10 a.m. - Complaint of stolen vegetables on the 800 block of 111th Street in North Battleford.
10:31 a.m. - Report of breach of probation received from Saskatchewan Justice. Arrest warrant prepared and offender to be located.
10:53 a.m. - Report of a domestic assault received. Members attended, but alleged victim denied she was assaulted, that it was just an argument. Male was found to be on a probation order with a no contact clause for the female, therefore was arrested for breaching that condition. Charges are pending.
11:18 a.m. - Complaint of damage to motor vehicle on the 1400 block of 109th Street, North Battleford.
12:12 p.m. - Report of a transport truck colliding with parked rail cars on Highway 16, east of North Battleford. Investigation revealed the truck blew a tire, causing it to leave the highway, cross the ditch and hit the rail cars, derailing one. Further investigation revealed the truck operators were knowingly driving the truck in a hazardous condition. Charges are pending against two men from Manitoba.
1:42 p.m. - Loss prevention officers from a local business report having a woman in custody for theft. Charges are pending
3:30 p.m. - Loss prevention officers from a local business report having a man in custody for theft and charges are pending.
5:22 p.m. - Report of two male young offenders being unlawfully at large, having left the open custody youth facility in North Battleford. Charges and warrants were prepared. Subjects are to be located.
6:16 p.m. - Complaint of intoxicated male trying to start fights at residence on Sweetgrass First Nation. Members attended, but an intoxicated man had left the residence prior to arrival.
7:23 p.m. - Complainant called upset that North Battleford Community Safety Officers were stopping everyone and asking for licences and vehicle registrations. Complainant wanted to know if they had the right to do this. Complainant was advised that the CSOs have the authority to enforce the Traffic Safety Act and this gives them the lawful authority to stop drivers and ask for their licence and registration.
7:50 p.m. - Complaint of a suspicious pair of pink children's pants tied to a tree in Moosomin First Nation, complainant advising this could have a cultural significance, investigation ongoing.
8:27 p.m. - Complaint of vehicle driving through canola field and ending up in a slough in the RM of Battleford, investigation ongoing.
22:25 - Complaint of drug trafficking at a residence on the Red Pheasant First Nation, investigation ongoing.
10:42 p.m. - Complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway 4 north of North Battleford. A vehicle was located and the driver failed roadside screening device. Charges are pending against a 38-year-old man from the Poundmaker First Nation.
11:51 p.m. - 911 call that sounded like possible assault in progress. Members attended a Battleford residence and investigation revealed a liquor-fueled sibling dispute between a 66-year-old man and 68-year-old woman.
Aug. 18
12:48 p.m. - Complaint of four horses loose on 110th Street in North Battleford, learned they were escapees from the Fair Grounds.
1:08 a.m. - Report of suspicious men on the 1700 block of 97th Street in North Battleford. Patrols were made but men were not located.
1:09 a.m. - Complaint of someone attempting to break into a car on the 1800 block of 96th Street, North Battleford. Car alarm scared culprits off.
2:56 p.m. - Complaint of people going through cars on Scott Drive in North Battleford. No suspect description was provided and patrols of area were negative.
3:09 p.m. - Complaint of suspicious men on the 1400 block of 114th Street in North Battleford.
3:59 a.m. - Complaint of large fight with weapons involved at the trailer park on 114th Street in North Battleford. Police attended and several persons were taken into custody and weapons were seized. Alcohol was a factor and the investigation is ongoing.
5:23 a.m. - Complaint of stolen vehicle from Cardinal Crescent in North Battleford.
05:26 - Complaint of one of the parties involved in the earlier fight being disruptive at the Battlefords Union Hospital. Members attended and one subject was taken into custody.
Police also responded to seven false/nuisance 911 calls, two minor disturbance reports, four alarms, five Mental Health Act complaints, three traffic investigations, one minor property damage complaints and four subjects who was arrested for alcohol related offences.
