Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 50 calls for service between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.

Wednesday

• 8:41 a.m.: Report of two in-custody youth escaping from a youth facility near North Battleford. Both were located and arrested by members a short time later in the city. Two 15-year-old youths are facing new charges of escaping lawful custody.

• 11:20 a.m.: 23-year-old man arrested and charged with care and control of a vehicle with impaired and care and control of a vehicle while over .08 after a vehicle check on 110th Street.

• 2:10 p.m.: Report of a break and enter to a residence in Cochin on Jeanne Crescent.

• 2:55 p.m.: Two men, 25 and 23, are facing numerous charges after a vehicle stop on the Red Pheasant First Nation. The two occupants of the vehicle became combative with the member at the time of the stop. A second attending officer arrived a short time later, and both accused were taken into custody. Jace Boushie, 25, is facing charges of resisting arrest (two), care and control of a vehicle while impaired, assaulting a police officer and mischief. William Boushie, 23, is charged with assaulting a police officer and two counts of failing to comply with probation. Both made their first appearances in North Battleford Provincial Court Thursday.

• 4:33 p.m.: Police called to a residence on the 400 block of 32nd Street in Battleford. It was reported that a man had assaulted another man at the residence. Subjects are known to each other. The suspect was gone upon police arrival and the investigation is still ongoing. 

• 8:40 p.m.: Report of a theft of a fire extinguisher from a business on Thompson Crescent some time near noon. Surveillance footage is available and a suspect has since been identified.

Thursday

• 1:48 a.m: A 42-year-old woman was arrested and is facing charges of impaired driving and driving while over .08 after the vehicle she was operating in narrowly missed striking a marked police vehicle on 12th Avenue.

• 4:19 a.m.: A 29-year-old man was arrested after a report of a male dropped off at the hospital suffering from a stab wound. The 20-year-old victim was treated in hospital for injuries to his chest and hands. The incident is alleged to have occurred in a vehicle near the area of 108th Street and 11th Avenue. The victim is expected at this time to recover. Austin Paskemin, 29, is facing a charge of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He made his first in custody appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on Friday October 23rd at 930 a.m. and remains in custody.

Police arrested one person for alcohol related offences and responded to two false 911 calls, eight traffic complaints, three animal calls, nine disturbances, two Child Welfare Act matters, two alarms and two minor collisions.
