SASKATOON — Prince Albert’s Marylou Lovell will be sharing a $119,482 windfall with her family after matching five main draw numbers on the Feb. 19 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
The ticket was purchased by Marylou on behalf of the family for a group buy.
The prize will be split by Marylou, her husband, Alan, and the other members of the group buy. That consists of their two children — Justin Lovell and Cheryl Russell — as well as Cheryl’s family, including her husband, Darren, and their three children: Tanner, Tyler and Tarren.
Before discovering their win, Marylou was checking numbers online when she saw someone from Saskatchewan had won.
“Oh, that’s good!” the winner thought as she began checking her numbers. The numbers started matching one by one and she realized her ticket was the winner, matching five of the six winning draw numbers; 4, 16, 30, 32, 37 and 44.
Lovell couldn’t believe her eyes. She picked up the phone and called her daughter, Cheryl, to help double-check the ticket.
“I called my daughter right away to see if I was right,” Lovell recalled.
The two checked their numbers five times using the Lotto Spot! app before she shared the news with the rest of the family.
“There was a lot of excitement!”
Lovell plans to take a trip with her share of the winnings.
The family says they play together when the jackpot is high.
