A 21-year-old female is dead following a head-on collision in the Spiritwood area which took place Tuesday.
The incident happened at around 2 p.m. In a news release issued Wednesday, the RCMP say the Spiritwood and Big River detachments of the RCMP responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision within the RM of Spiritwood. A car collided with a truck and a total of five patients were transported from the scene for treatment. The Jaws of Life had to be used to free several occupants.
Early Wednesday morning, the 21-year-old female victim had died at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, according to the RCMP.
It is suspected poor weather conditions were a factor in the collision.
The investigation is continuing and no names are being released pending notification of next of kin and permission of the family.
