An 18-year-old man has died after his pickup truck hit a semi-truck at a location near Melfort.
The two vehicles collided at the intersection of Trail #44 and Melinda Road March 27. The pickup truck was traveling south on Melinda Road, while the semi-truck was traveling east on Trail #44 when the collision happened.
Melfort RCMP responded to the scene at 2:40 p.m. The lone 38-year-old male driver of the semi-truck was transported to hospital as a precaution, while the 18-year-old was transported to hospital and was pronounced deceased.
The road was blocked until March 28 to allow RCMP to investigate. Police said they’ll continue the investigation with collision reconstruction experts.
