According to a press release, April is rated as a low-security remanded offender. The inmate, who was remanded to the Pine Grove Correctional Centre in Prince Albert, had been escorted to Saskatoon for a medical appointment. April had been remanded because of failure to comply and failure to appear. She has been charged with weapon-related offences, but is not considered dangerous. Saskatoon Police Service has been notified of the escape.
