Battlefords RCMP responded to 57 calls for service over the time period Monday, June 26th, 6 a.m. – Tuesday, June 27th, 6 a.m., including but not limited to the following:
1:09 p.m. 16 year old male youth threatened suicide. Police located youth unharmed and transported to Battlefords Union Hospital for evaluation.
8:56 p.m. Police called to a fight in progress the 1300 block of 103st in North Battleford. Allegations of one person chasing another with a bat as well as an adult male attempting to use bear spray on occupants of a residence that were known to him. Police attended and locate the subject with the bear spray at a nearby residence where he was arrested and taken into custody. Bear spray was seized from where the subject was located. Matter is still under investigation.
10:07 p.m. Police called to a residence in the rural area north of North Battleford for a suicidal female youth. Youth located unharmed. She was subsequently arrested and taken to Battleford’s Union Hospital for evaluation.
10:17 p.m. Three youth under 16 years old approached two other youth under 16 years old and threatened them with a knife, demanding money. The two victims ran away unharmed. No cash was given. Police attended the scene located on the 700 block of 100th St. in North Battleford. One of the suspects was located and subsequently arrested and charged. Matter is still under investigation.
Police responded to 53 other calls for service including Provincial and Criminal Code Statutes.
