The fire ban that had been in place in the city of North Battleford and the RM of North Battleford has been lifted.
The fire ban had been in place since May 1. But the onset of rainy weather this week has meant the end of the dry conditions that had posed a fire hazard.
The city reminded residents in a news release to ensure residents burn responsibly, as even though the grass has greened and wet weather is here, it still does not take much for the ground to dry out and become a higher risk.
Those in the City of North Battleford who want to use a fire pit will need a permit. For those, you must pay a $20 fee at City Hall and then make arrangements with the Fire Department for an inspection. You should also review the rules and regulations by visiting the city’s website.
