Fire on 33rd results on $325K loss

An estimated $325,000 was lost in Sunday morning’s structure fire at the 3400 block of 33rd Street West in Saskatoon. Fire investigators concluded their inquiry and the cause of the fire was undetermined.

The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a call of a one-storey structure fire in the 3400 block of 33rd Street West Sunday.

An estimated $325,000 was lost in Sunday morning’s structure fire at the 3400 block of 33rd Street West in Saskatoon.

Fire investigators concluded their inquiry and the cause of the fire was undetermined.

The fire originated from the deck of the one-storey structure. The estimated damage is from multiple structures involved in the fire.

At 8:13 a.m. Sunday, the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a call after SFD Communications Centre received a report of a structure fire. Three engines, one ladder truck, a heavy rescue unit and the Battalion Chief were dispatched to the scene.

The fire had already fully engulfed one of the structures causing the flames to spread to adjacent structures on both sides. The fire was declared under control at 9:38 a.m.

All people inside the structure were safe and no other civilians of firefighters were reported injured. Those affected by the were given first aid while the Salvation Army provided support to check on the immediate needs of the residents.
