Firearms charges following vehicle stop

A vehicle stop on the weekend has resulted in charges for two individuals. Kane Nicotine, 20, of North Battleford, and Deshane Bird, 19, of Lloydminster have been charged with a number of firearms related offences according to the RCMP.

A vehicle stop on the weekend has resulted in charges for two individuals.

Kane Nicotine, 20, of North Battleford, and Deshane Bird, 19, of Lloydminster have been charged with a number of firearms related offences according to the RCMP. Nictoine is also charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while suspended.

According to RCMP, they conducted the vehicle stop at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, in the 1300 block of 101st Street.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded sawed off .17 calibre rifle, a .22 calibre assault style rifle, and a small amount of prescription pills. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Both Nicotine and Bird appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on June 19, 2017 and remain in custody. Nicotine is due in court again June 23 and Bird is back June 30.
