Firefighter activities March 8-10

March 8, North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a smoke incident around the 1000 block of 108th Street. Firefighters say a pot left unattended on a stove caused smoke in an apartment. A fan was used to ventilate the apartment.

March 8, North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a smoke incident around the 1000 block of 108th Street.

Firefighters say a pot left unattended on a stove caused smoke in an apartment. A fan was used to ventilate the apartment. The incident happened around 2 p.m.

Later that same day firefighters responded to two sharps pick-up incidents.

Firefighters found and disposed of needles at the 1300 block of 101st Street shortly before 4 p.m. on March 8. Later, two firefighters in the utility truck picked up and disposed of two needles in the 1200 block of 101st Street around 5 p.m.

Emergency crews responded to two incidents Saturday. The first was a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at the corner of 100th Street and 11th Avenue around 5:20 p.m.

The fire department reported minor damage to a semi unit and damage to the front of a car.

Later that day, around 8 p.m., fire crews responded with a pumper and three firefighters to a report of a water pipe burst at the 1100 block of 107th Street. Battlefords Union Hospital maintenance personnel were attending to the problem.
