UPDATE: The following was issued by the City of North Battleford THURSDAY afternoon:
The City of North Battleford would like to thank residents for their water conservation efforts this week. Through your efforts we are pleased to be able to lift the ban on watering flowers and flowerbeds as well as remove the request to conserve water with items such as laundry or washing vehicles.
However, the ban on watering lawns remains in effect as water levels in the water tower and reservoirs have been steadily dropping over the day and one more evening of no lawn watering is required to fill these to normal fire flow levels.

Your co-operation is very much appreciated and has made the difference!Due to a major water main break, an 18-inch transmission line that feeds the distribution system, the City of North Battleford is requesting residents to continue their water conservation efforts while depleted reservoir levels are restored.

WEDNESDAY: Test results came back Wednesday allowing the City to put water from the F.E. Holliday Treatment Plant back into the distribution system.

Wednesday afternoon's update stated, "Residents are asked to continue the conservation of water, avoid washing vehicles and watering lawns as reservoir levels are low and need to be restored to proper operational level."
The update went on to say, "Through your conservation efforts the City was able to avoid a city-wide precautionary drinking water advisory. Your efforts are highly commended."
