A fire that caused extensive damage to a garage on 100th Street is being treated as suspicious in nature.
The fire broke out at the garage on the 700 block of 100th Street in North Battleford Thursday afternoon. North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services say the alarm came in at 1:38 p.m. The garage was located in the alleyway between 100th and 99th Streets, not far from the Don Ross Centre.
Three fire apparatus including two pumpers, as well as eight fire personnel were on the scene for almost two hours. Also on scene were WPD ambulance, the RCMP, North Battleford special constables and SaskPower.
Firefighters were successful in containing the blaze to the garage, making sure it did not spread to nearby homes or fences.
The garage and its contents suffered major damage and firefighters could be seen removing and dousing some of the fire-damaged contents from the garage.
No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.
