Garage razed in blaze

A garage suffered major damage from a heavy fire that broke out Friday afternoon. The call came in to North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services at around 5 p.m. June 4.

As most people finished their work week and were in weekend mode, the North Battleford Fire and Emergency Service responded to a garage fire on 109th Street just after 5 p.m. Fire trucks, police cars and an ambulance quickly responded to the fire, but garage was destroyed.

A garage suffered major damage from a heavy fire that broke out Friday afternoon.

The call came in to North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services at around 5 p.m. June 4. A detached garage located on the 1400 block of 109th Street was described as "fully involved with total loss" by fire officials.

An adjacent garage was also damaged along with a neighbouring house that suffered heat damage.

Three fire vehicles with ten personnel were on the scene for a total of one hour and 35 minutes. Eyewitnesses are crediting the fire and emergency crews for their quick response time to the blaze.

The estimated amount of damage is considered major. There were no injuries reported.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and remains under investigation.
