Although a Glaslyn house fire was brought under control before the building was completely destroyed, the body of a deceased person was found inside.

Glaslyn was struck by a tragedy Sunday, as a fire engulfed a house around 4 p.m.

Though emergency fire services from Glaslyn, Medstead and Turtleford were called to extinguish the fire, and the building was not entirely destroyed, fire crews discovered one deceased person amidst the rubble. The body has not been identified at this time.

RCMP have indicated the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature, but it remains under investigation by the Turtleford RCMP. The office of the fire examiner and an RCMP fire scene examiner from North Battleford are also assisting in the investigation.
