The Battlefords RCMP had a busy night Thursday. They responded to more than 50 calls for service between 6 a.m. Thursday, June 26 and 6 a.m Friday, June 27.
These calls included five traffic complaints, seven false or nuisance 911 calls, six municipal bylaw or noise complaints and three false alarms.
Thursday
10:54 a.m. - Disturbance at a business on Carlton Drive involving a former employee. Subject left when police called and later warned not to return.
12:27 p.m. - Three youths reported missing from group home. All located shortly after 6:00 p.m. by members and returned.
1:21 p.m. - Complaint of two sisters fighting/arguing on 100th Street. Both located. 21-year-old woman arrested for causing a disturbance and later released without charges. Other warned and left area. No further complaints received.
3:16 p.m. - Call of intoxicated woman causing a disturbance at a business on 101st Street. 45-year-old woman located and arrested. Later turned over to a sober relative.
3:18 p.m. - 25-year-old woman arrested for causing a disturbance after a report of an intoxicated woman yelling at people as they walked by on 101st Street.
3:40 p.m. - 53-year-old woman arrested and charged with failing to comply with no alcohol conditions after report of a woman sleeping on 101st Street.
5:03 p.m. - Report of a man violating no contact order. Subject already left area when police called. Investigation ongoing.
6:28 p.m. - Report of a man at a business causing a disturbance. Argument over service mediated by member.
6:40 p.m. - 44-year-old woman arrested after report by a business on Carlton Trail that they had a shoplifter in custody. Theft charges pending.
7:00 p.m. - Youth reported missing from residence. Located a short time later.
7:09 p.m. - 54-year-old man arrested for public intoxication, found staggering down the street on Blue Jay Crescent.
8:55 p.m. - 50-year-old man arrested for public intoxication after report of intoxicated man having fallen and unable to stand again on 106th Street.
9:41 p.m. - Report of two suspects going through a vehicle on 110th Street. Both subjects located and arrested a short distance away. 22-year-old man has been charged with mischief and a 17-year-old man has been charged with theft under $5,000 and two counts of breach of probation. Both subjects remanded into custody made their first appearances in North Battleford Provincial Court June 27.
10:11 p.m. - Police then received a call from the grandmother of the 22-year-old arrested on the above noted complaint, stating her grandson was currently in the back of a police vehicle, was intoxicated and she wanted him detained for the night. Wish granted.
Friday
12:10 a.m. - Complainant reporting two men trying to pick a fight with him near the Don Ross Hill. Extensive patrols made for suspects, no one located. No assault occurred.
12:25 a.m. - Man suffering from a severe cut to his lower leg on St. Laurent Drive. Injury sustained by broken glass. Subject transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment. Initial reports were of a possible assault with a weapon, however this has not yet been confirmed. One witness on scene was arrested for failing to comply with no alcohol conditions, but he is not believed to have been involved in the incident which resulted in the injury to the man. Investigation is ongoing.
1:00 a.m. - Report of an assault on 103rd Street. Investigation revealed no assault, complainant just upset that suspect was mean.
2:00 a.m. - Attempted theft of a vehicle on Trudeau Street, interrupted by a witness. Suspects fled area, described as two men approximately 13-14 years of age.
2:04 a.m. - Missing person reported, last seen about midnight, upset and crying. Subject returned home by 3:30 a.m.
2:33 a.m. - Unwanted, intoxicated guest causing problems at a residence on Foley Drive. 34-year-old man arrested for mischief, held in custody until sober. No charges pursued.
4:06 a.m. - Report of two suspicious men possibly checking out vehicles on 106th Street. Patrols negative.
4:31 a.m. - Stolen vehicle recovered on 104th Street. Two suspects witnessed running from scene. Two men were arrested and charged in this matter over the weekend. 12-year-old man has been charged with possession of stolen property and a 13-year-old man has been charged with possession of stolen property and four counts of breach of probation.
5:06 a.m. - Call of persons trying to break into a camper on 110th Street. A 21-year-old man arrested by members had gained entry to the camper. Charges include break and enter with intent. A 17-year-old youth also located nearby was taken into custody and released to a guardian without charges at this time. Investigation ongoing.
