Hearing adjourned in P.A. court for woman charged with murder

The body of Jeremy Starblanket of Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation was found at the scene of a house fire in Prince Albert March 2021.

PRINCE ALBERT – A preliminary hearing for a woman accused of killing 29-year-old Jeremy Starblanket of Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation has been adjourned to January 2023.

Loretta Sakebow, 31, was arrested in July 2021 after Prince Albert Police released her photo and issued a Canada-wide warrant for her arrest on a charge of second-degree murder. She was arrested four months later.

Prince Albert Police say that Starblanket was murdered on March 20, 2021. Starblanket’s body was found at the scene of a house fire and in the 500 block of 5 Street East in Prince Albert. Prince Albert Fire Department said the explosion at the house blew the building off of its foundation.

The charge against Sakebow hasn’t been tested in court.
