Some serious horsepower was the result of the Hames and Harness Horse Club successful bid to hitch six heavy draft horses in tandem.

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon Feb. 12, members of the Hames and Harness Horse Club gathered at the H. Don and Kathy Heidel farm.

Testing their combined skills, members ofclub successfullycollaborated to hitch their first six abreast of draft horses.

An achievement in itself, the six abreast hitch was unique in that three different breeds of draft horses pulled in tandem - Belgians, Percherons and Clydesdales.

The co-operative effort includeda team of Belgian geldings, Ben and Grant, from Duhaime's Belgians &Percherons Paynton. Owners are Albert, Emma, Pauline and Nichole Duhaime.

A team of Percheron mares, Emma and Missy, werefrom Backroad Percherons owned by H. Don and Kathy Heidel of rural North Battleford.

Bringing a team of Clydesdale geldings, Fred and Jake, were Marcel and Annette Duhaime of Vawn who own Duhaime's Clydesdales.

Other members of the club and friends were also on hand to make sure the outing was a success.
