EAST CENTRAL — The Horizon School Division has announced it is taking more measures against COVID-19.
Schools are no longer holding assemblies of more than 50 people. All upcoming out-of-school educational trips are canceled or postponed. In-person professional development for teachers have been postponed.
Community rental of school facilities are cancelled until further notice.
Parent-teacher interviews will continue as planned, but parents are encouraged to have the conversations over the phone.
“We will be taking other precautionary measures, such as providing additional hand sanitizer for our schools, in the days ahead,” said a statement signed by Kevin Garinger, Horizon's director of education. “As educators and families, we will work together tokeep our students and communities healthy, safe and cared for.”
