The Saskatchwan Housing Authority has announced appointments to several local housing authority boards in the Northwest.
Lorna Chambers has been appointed to the Turtleford Housing Authority board of directors along with the reappointment of Louise Lundberg. Other members of the board are Helen Starnes, Leslie Nordell and Marilyn Bleakney.
The Turtleford Housing Authority is a community-based organization that provides daily management of 24 housing units constructed and operated under the terms of a federal/provincial/municipal costsharing agreement.
Patrick Laughlin has been appointed to the Rabbit Lake board. Other members are Marlene Martens, Naomi Unger and Shirley Jones. Martens is chairperson. The Rabbit Lake Housing Authority manages 13 housing units.
Christina Brett has been reappointed to the Maidstone board. Other members of the board of directors are Archibald Reid, Gillian Churn, Norman Hollingshead and Riley Tuplin. Reid is chairperson. The Maidstone Housing Authority manages 24 housing units.
Barbara McClellan has been appointed to the Pierceland board. Other members are Robin Harrison, Sheryl Epp, Glen Torgersen and John Dahlseide.The Pierceland Housing Authority manages 28 housing units.
Saskatchewan has a network of 271 housing authorities and more than 1,400 volunteer members who assist with management of housing units throughout the province for seniors, low income families and persons with disabilities.
Persons interested in volunteering to serve on a housing authority board of directors are encouraged to contact the mayor of their community. A local nominating committee recommends board members.
