Hudson Bay woman found deceased by RCMP

A 27-year-old Hudson Bay woman was found deceased by Hudson Bay RCMP.

They received a complaint that an adult female had been shot at a residence on Hudson Street at 5 p.m. on Feb 3. When emergency personnel arrived on scene, the female was pronounced deceased.

An adult male person of interest from Hudson Bay was identified immediately and arrested without incident.

As a result of investigation, 32-year-old Steven Lee Lewis of Hudson Bay has been charged with one count of first degree murder in relation to the death of Stacey Lewis of Hudson Bay. The accused and victim were known to each other.

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Melfort Provincial Court on Feb. 7 at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Office of the Chief Coroner, the RCMP Major Crimes Unit - South, Tisdale Forensic Identification Services and the Yorkton General Investigation Sections.
